Jack be nimble!
Thanks to David Zimmerman for submitting the Home Page picture.  That’s his son Jack, now eleven years old, sitting on the fender of David’s 1938 Dodge D8 Convertible Sedan.  The car is #15 of 132 produced and to David’s knowledge one of the only survivors of this rare model. David has had this car for about 8-years now. He rebuilt the entire drive-train "from radiator to rear axle" including the very rare optional Borg-Warner automatic overdrive. David and Jack drove this car to the Walter P. Chrysler Club (WPC) meet in Williamsburg, VA in the summer of 2006.  They intend to leave the day of the BSAAC show this summer to attend the WPC meet in western Pennsylvania.

Museum of Antiquated Technology Tour – June 1st
It’s all set!  We will be visiting the Museum of Antiquated Technology on Sunday June 1st. You don’t want to miss out on this fascinating trip to America’s technological past.  We will be leaving the Endicott Estate at 10:00 am and heading south to the sleepy suburb of Hanson, Massachusetts where the Museum of Antiquated Technology is snuggled away. The Museum isn't open to the public, but owner and curator, Mark Vess, has agreed to open his unique collection of out-of-date gadgets to our club members.  We will see old telephones, radios, phonographs as well as dual flywheel gasoline engines and a mini-fleet of antique cars.  The trip will include a “vintage” picnic on the Museum grounds, so let’s hope for good weather.

“Breakdown” Tour Report
April 27th was a mostly cloudy day with temperatures in the mid 50’s and a mid-morning shower - not the perfect weather for a Sunday drive.  None-the-less, thirty-four Bay State Antique Auto Club members and guests met at the Dedham Plaza on Route 1 in Dedham for the first driving tour of the season.  With thirteen antique automobiles all dusted off and ready to go, our tour leader, Bob Hamm, led the group along the back roads of Dedham, Needham, Dover, Natick, Sherborn, Holliston, and Medway to our destination – the Town of Millis, Massachusetts.  Our first stop was Niagara Hall the town’s historic fire station located on Exchange Street.   The old firehouse has been undergoing restorations for the past four years and is beginning to look much as it did when it was built in 1879.  Mr. Jeffrey Harden of the Millis Historic Society was kind enough to give our group a tour of the old station house and its historic treasures.  From Niagara Hall it was just a short drive to Pleasant Street and the main event of the day - Sunday Brunch at the Primavera Ristorante.  Here we were treated to a fine assortment of culinary delights.  Needless to say, no one from our group of hearty travelers left Millis hungry.  A nice drive, a bit of history, plenty of good food and not a single “breakdown” to report – what more could we ask for?  Thanks to Bob and Ann Marie Hamm for organizing this sensational season opener.

Holliston’s 280th Anniversary Celebrations
The Town of Holliston is looking for club members to participate in their 280th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 10, 2008.  They would like a display of antique automobiles on Main Street in front of the Historic Town Green from 9:00 to approximately 12:00. A PULL ON THE BELL ROPE will signal the start of the 280 year and celebration of Holliston’s historic “Olde Meeting House” around which the town was built.  The popular, annual yard sale “on the green” along with offerings by the Holliston Garden Club will also mark the festive day.  Email  Mark Paré at mkpare@comcast.net if you are available to attend.
